Introduction Objective

Sewer work is an important aspect of construction because it not only involves customer satisfaction but also the environment & protection.

CIDB in collaboration with stakeholders in the sewerage sector has developed a training course for 'Sewerage Construction Manager', where this course can deal with construction quality issues in the sewerage sector through proper management by qualified officials.

Successful course participants will be awarded a Level 5 Construction Skills Competency Certificate (CSCC).

Accreditation Objectives:

  • Improve the quality of construction facility management implemented by qualified, accreditated and competent personnel.
  • Ensuring that the Facility Manager and Executive meet the requirements of the National Occcupational Skill Standard (NOSS) or the latest standard developed by the industry.
  • Fufil the registration requirements for Facility Contractor with fields coded F01 and F02.
  • Provision of a systematic, registration and accreditation platform.

Applicant

Accreditation is now open to all construction personnel/individual who are directly or indirectly involved in the construction management works of sewerage and meet the eligibility requirements for application and commissioning. This competence is also one of the requirements to meet the conditions set by the National Water Service Commission (SPAN).

Accreditation Method

This construction manager (CCM) accreditation program is implemented through two (2) assessment methods, namely:

  • Mode I(a) – Training & Assessment,
  • Mode I(b) – Assessment only, and

The Modes and their Assessment processes are as follows:

Training and Assessment
Undergoing course and sitting for written assessment for each study package.

PASS : Construction Skills Competency Level 5 Certificate will be awarded.
FAIL : Repeat training for failed modules and re-assessment.
Mode I(b)
Assessment only
Sitting for written assessment

PASS : Construction Skills Competency Level 5 Certificate will be awarded.
FAIL : Re-apply for Mode I(b) at any time (limited to twice only) or acquire accreditation via any other Mode

Successful candidates having passed through any mode will be accreditated with a Construction Skills Competency Certificate (CSCC) Level 5 with the duties and responsibilities of the Sewerage Construction Manager (SCM) who is authorized according to his field will be printed on the back of the certificate. For the purpose of registration with this Board, the certified Sewerage Construction Manager must update the registration with the Board.
