Joint Operation in Bukit Kiara Leads to Construction Site Closure

A construction site in Kiara Road, Bukit Kiara, was ordered to shut down, and 32 construction workers were apprehended on the grounds of improper documentation and work permits.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall, in collaboration with the police, the Immigration Department, the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp), and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH), conducted this operation.

Three compound notices were issued within the construction site, including two notices under Section 70 of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974.

These notices pertained to the violation of conducting earthworks without the local authority’s approval. Additionally, one notice was issued under Section 69 of the Local Government Act 1976, addressing disturbances originating from the construction site that affected the public river channel or pathway.

The inspections encompassed both the interior and exterior of the construction site, focusing on evaluating cleanliness, pathways, structural integrity, safety measures, and adherence to permit requirements.

In a statement posted on Facebook, City Hall revealed that the inspection involved 24 Bangladeshi citizens, seven Indonesian citizens, and one Indian citizen, conducted by the Department of Immigration Malaysia (JIM) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
