CREAM and CIDB Conduct Comprehensive Enforcement Operations Across Bintulu Construction Sites

On 5 – 7 March 2024, CREAM participated in the Integrated Enforcement Operations (OPB) and Special Enforcement Operations (OPK) of CIDB Sarawak Bintulu Branch at construction sites around Bintulu, Sarawak.

A total of 48 CIDB enforcement personnel (State of Sarawak and Branches), as well as subsidiaries and five enforcement agencies participating in the OPB, namely the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), BOMBA, Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), Bintulu Division Health Department (MOH), and Bintulu Development Authority (BDA). The operation was carried out on 5 March 2024 at a Bintulu Vocational College site under construction (project worth RM21.5 million).

A total of 22 CIDB enforcement personnel (State of Sarawak and Branches) and subsidiaries conducted the Special Enforcement Operations (OPK). The operation was carried out on 6 March 2024 at the RM3.03 billion “Onshore Gas Plant for the Rosmari Marjoram Project” site.

On 7 March 2024, operations resumed at the construction site of a manganese alloy smelting (Sakura Ferroalloys) processing plant worth RM130.9 million in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu.

CREAM has assisted CIDB in enforcing Act 520, Fourth Schedule, namely Compliance with Act 520 CIDB for the scope of building materials. CREAM’s participation with CIDB enforcement officers can be expanded, thus creating awareness among industry players of the importance of compliance with Act 520 for the quality of the construction industry and safety at the construction site.
