
13 May 2025, Kuching Sarawak – The International Construction Week (ICW) Borneo 2025 was officially launched by The Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, marking a bold new chapter in showcasing construction excellence across the region.

The event was graced by an esteemed lineup of guests, including The Honourable Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development, and Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment; The Honourable Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Works Malaysia; Yang Berbahagia Datuk Seri Azman bin Ibrahim, Secretary General of the Ministry of Works Malaysia; The Honourable Ir Haji Yusuf bin Haji Abd. Wahab, Chairman of CIDB Malaysia, and Madam Zainora Zainal, Chief Executive of CIDB Malaysia, alongside other Honourable Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Malaysia and Sarawak.

Carrying the theme “Innovative Construction for a Sustainable Future,” ICW Borneo 2025 is more than an industry gathering; it is a strategic convergence of minds, markets, and missions. The event explores how construction can be reimagined in the face of climate change, rapid urbanisation, and the urgent need for sustainable growth across Southeast Asia.

Day two of the Construction Sustainability Summit (CSS), held as part of ICW Borneo 2025, was graced by the presence of YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Works, Malaysia.
The Minister attended the summit to listen to an insightful keynote by Mr. John Hardy, Founder of Green School Bali, who delivered an inspiring talk titled “Nurturing Changemakers to Make Our World Sustainable.”
