Kuala Lumpur: The German Pavilion in the ICW 2019 is initiated by ZVEI.
Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie eV - in short ZVEI - is certainly a mouthful. It is German for Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association.
ZVEI is one of the most important industrial associations in Germany, representing the interests of a high-tech sector with a very wide and extremely dynamic product portfolio. The association is committed to the common interests of the electronic industry and manufacturers in Germany and at the international level.
ZVEI is the central organisation of the electronics and manufacturing industries that actively contributes to the further development of the economic and socio-political framework in Germany and Europe.
The association has a bold vision statement, part of which states: “We are always a knowledgeable, highly sought after and assertive discussion partner. The efficiency of our association’s work supports the entrepreneurial development of our industry and its members”.
For the Asean Super 8 exhibition at the ICW 2019, ZVEI and the German Pavilion have brought along a strong team comprising 10 German companies bearing the German hallmark of efficiency.
The companies participating this year are AIB Kunstmann (market leader of racks and cabinets for stationary batteries, coated steel containers for traction batteries and steel structures for charging stations), BAE Batterien (manufacturer of premium lead batteries), Beckhoff Automation (Automation Solutions), Delta Squared Consultants, Eetarp Power (Electrical safety solutions), EFEN (Smart solutions for power distribution grids), EPLAN Software & Services (electrical, automation and mechatronic engineering), Ritz Instrument Transformer, Schletter-The Solar Mounting Group and Sudkabel/PTD Technology (solar projects).
Lisa-Maria Okken, manager of European Affairs, was on hand to talk to us about the German Pavilion’s experiences here at ICW 2019.
“We did some research on Asean affairs and heard about this event and we have been coming to the ICW for four years now. ZVEI represents approximately 1,600 German companies. We provide communication services to our member companies such as advising them on the political affairs of countries and source for events - such as this - according to the needs and requirements of our member companies.
“The companies that attended this event last year as well as those that are here this year are happy with its turnout and overall management and quality. Response has been very good from Malaysian companies as well as other nationalities. Visitors have shown interest not just in our companies but also in the German government activities in the field of energy and we are glad we have been able to give them a lot of information, which is really beneficial both ways.
“Our companies too have established a lot of interesting business contacts. Overall, we are very happy with the organisation of the event and the support that we have been given. I must add here that German companies recognise Malaysia as an emergent market and we are paying close attention to the developments here.”
