BEST INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT AWARD

These Awards to give recognition to Malaysian contractors who have demonstrated overall excellence in company’s performance and project implementation. The category will be presented as follows:

Judging Criteria

The judging criteria comprises among others:-

Eligibility Criteria

i) The application for this category is opened to local contractors Grade G1 to G6 registered with CIDB Malaysia

ii)Contractors participating for this category to ensure their projects were completed within the period of 1st July 2015 until 31st December 2017 and issued with Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC). For small contractors who do not have one or more of the Certificate of Completion, any evidence of a job offer such as letters of appointment, indent, or proof of payment of the client is accepted

iii)Participants who have undergone the contractor assessment under the CIDB Malaysia SCORE Rating System will have additional advantages. Please attach the valid SCORE Rating Certificate from CIDB Malaysia

iv)The entry form must be duly completed, signed and dated

v)Award recipients and/or Special mention recipients of the previously nominated projects are not allowed to participate for the same projects for MCIEA 2018

vi)CIDB or construction industry players may nominate for this award

INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This Award is to recognise Malaysian contractors who have achieved outstanding and credible recognition in overseas construction ventures.

JUDGING CRITERIA

>>Evaluation will be based on but not limited to the following criteria:

>>Ability to overcome international construction challenges, cultural barriers, different style of management and operational practices

>>Adoption of overall quality management system and high standard of delivery process.

>>Ability to project excellent image of Malaysia

>>List of projects undertaken outside Malaysia including the contract value.

SHASSIC AWARD

This Award is to recognise client/ consultant/ contractor who have demonstrated best practices in ensuring strict adherence to safety and health requirements in their construction projects.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Evaluation of the category will be based on the following criteria:

A. COMPLIANCE TO REGULATION

The contractor is to show evidence that they have complied to legislative requirements. A confirmation letter from the authority namely DOSH would be required to support this requirement

B. OSH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Contractors are to show evidence that they have fully subscribed to and effectively communicated the Occupational Safety & Health Management Systems within their organisations

C. HUMAN RESOURCE

Construction personnel and workers must have been trained continuously throughout the construction period and that they have attended the Occupational Safety & Health Induction Courses organised by CIDB (Green Card)

D. SHASSIC SCORE

Contractor shall carry out SHASSIC Assessment for the project/s submitted. SHASSIC Assessment shall be carried out when the work progress of the project/s fall between 25% - 75%.

E. OTHERS

Contractors may submit any Award s received with regard to Safety and Health for the participating projects. The award may be given by DOSH, MSOSH or other organisations approved by CIDB

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The application for this award is opened to client, consultant and contractor registered with CIDB

Open to local projects with work progress not exceeding 50% at the time of submission to CIDB and to carry out SHASSIC Assessment should the project have not done so

The participation for this category is open throughout the year.

Sub contractors are eligible to participate in MCIEA 2018 provided they obtained written consent from main contractors.

For sub contractors who wish to participate in MCIEA 2018, their contract value has to be minimum 25% of the main contract value

Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC) must be issued to the projects for the award to be considered

The entry form must be duly completed, signed and dated

CIDB or construction industry players may nominate for this award

Assessment are based on the initiation of the project towards its completion.                                                       

GREEN BUILDING AWARD

This Award is to give recognition to clients, consultants, and contractors (teamwork) who have adopted green and sustainable concept / practices / techniques in construction project implementation.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Evaluation of the category will be based on the following criteria:

>>Green construction practices

>>Sustainability and impact to the environment

>>Green innovation

>>Accreditation / certification if any (eg: EMS: ISO 14001)

>>Green design excellence

>>Cost efficiency

>>Other related awards received

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The application for this award is opened to client, consultant and contractor registered with CIDB

Open for projects which were completed within the period of  1st July 2015 until 31st December 2017 and issued with Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC) and rated by green building rating tools (E.g.: MyCREST, GBI, GreenRE, etc). For projects under construction, continuous assessment will be carried out by the assessors for award consideration the following years

Sub contractors are eligible to participate in MCIEA 2018 provided they obtained written consent from main contractors

For sub contractors who wish to participate in MCIEA 2018, their contract value has to be minimum 25% of the main contract value

The entry form must be duly completed, signed and dated

CIDB or construction industry player may nominate for this award.

IBS AWARD

This Award is to recognise local project that has effectively adopted and utilised Industrialised Building System (IBS) in its implementation.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Evaluation is based on the following criteria:

>>Quality of workmanship

>>IBS Score

>>Minimisation of construction wastage

>>Cleanliness and safety level at worksite

>>Efficient use of materials and labour

>>Predictability of time and productivity

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The application for this award is opened to clients, consultants and contractors registered with CIDB

The client, consultant and contractors may apply for the Award individually or jointly

Open for projects which were completed within the period of 1st July 2015 until 31st December 2017 and issued with Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC)

Sub contractors are eligible to participate in MCIEA 2018 provided they obtained written consent from main contractors

INNOVATION AWARD

This Award is to recognise individual/team that has produced ideas/ concept / product/ processes/ techniques/ technologies that have been commercialised and can improve efficiency and productivity of construction project implementation and/or the construction industry.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Evaluation will be based on all, and / or a combination, but (not limited to) the following criteria:

>>Improve efficiency, productivity and quality  of construction

>>Economic benefits

>>Industry acceptance / commercialization

>>Enhance the sustainability of the construction industry

>>Originality

>>Creativity & innovations

>>Environment friendliness

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

This award is opened to individual/team/creator related to the construction industry

Open for local ideas/concept/product/processes/techniques/technologies that have been commercialised or applied

The application for this award is opened throughout the year. However, for MCIEA 2018, it has to be submitted by 31st March 2018

The entry form must be duly completed, signed and dated

BUILDER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This Award is presented to a Grade G7 contractor who has demonstrated overall excellence in company’s performance and project implementation.

The judging criteria comprises among others:

>>Adoption of Best Practices in Project Implementation

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The application for this category is opened to local G7 contractors registered with CIDB Malaysia

All participants are required to have undergone the contractor assessment under the CIDB Malaysia SCORE rating in evaluating the company’s overall performance. Please attach the valid SCORE Rating Certificate from CIDB Malaysia

Contractors participating for this category to ensure their projects were completed within the period of 1st July 2015 until 31st December 2017 and issued with Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC)

The entry form must be duly completed, signed and dated

Award recipients and/or Special mention recipients of the previously nominated projects are not allowed to participate for the same projects for MCIEA 2018

CIDB or construction industry player may nominate for this award.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

CEO of the Year Award

This Award is given to an individual who has successfully steered, manage, directed and moulded the company they lead to greater heights and contributed significantly to the development of the Malaysian construction industry.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Evaluation will be based on but (not limited to) the following criteria:

>>Company’s financial and business performance
>>Adoption of innovative practices
>>Commitment towards R&D
>>Contribution to the construction industry
>>Contribution towards sustainable development
>>Contribution towards nation building
>>Contribution to social and community projects

CEO of the Year Award
This Award is given to an individual who has successfully steered, manage, directed and moulded the company they lead to greater heights and contributed significantly to the development of the Malaysian construction industry.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

An individual who is a Malaysian citizen

The application for this award is opened to Chief Executive / Managing Director of Malaysian construction related companies

Served minimum 5 years as a current Chief Executive / Managing Director of the same Company on/until the 31 December 2017

CIDB or construction industry player may nominate individual for this award.

Prominent Player Award

The Award is to recognise an individual who best represents the qualities and attributes of a prominent construction industry player and has contributed significantly to the development of the Malaysian construction industry.
